A New Year

ok, so while i'm not a huge fan of new year's resolutions, one thing john and i are resolved to do this year is take more pictures. and i promise to do my best to share more of them online with you! we are inspired to really get out and make the most of where we live, the friendships we have, and create memories every single day. one of my closest friends, martha, says it best in her blog and has truly inspired and challenged us to get after it. http://marthametzler.blogspot.com/2010/01/memorable-2010.html

2009 was an incredible year, and even though john and i were apart for roughly 3 months, we had some amazing adventures together and with so many of our good friends. we are so blessed!
i realize we've done a really lame job of posting pictures/stories/adventures over the last month, but mainly because we've been having too much fun making memories with some of our bestest buds. steph came to visit for 2 weeks and somehow she survived the bitter -22 degree weather. one of the highlights was taking off in to the woods to chop down our own charlie brown christmas tree. pictures of her trip to come soon!

we were so happy to spend christmas with cambey and david, and had an absolute blast with them while they were in town. i'll post pictures in waves, but wanted to share so many of the memories we made with them!

these first round of pictures are from cambey's camera from their christmas adventures with us:

none of us will claim that we look good skiing.

that's cambey, making her way down the mountain. this was her first western ski trip, and by the end of the day, she dominated the mountain, crushed the pow pow, shredded the nar nar.....

cambey, david and the grand teton.

at breakfast with lauren and andrew before hitting the slopes. breakfast was short-lived, as we apparently sat ourselves at a dirty table that was too small for 6 people. john was already frustrated that the team was behind schedule, so we opted for a bagel and hit the road.

definitely one of the best dinners we've had in jackson to date. thanks david, for knowing people everywhere.

there was lots of flannel and lots of guitar playing.

fresh squeezed mimosas. what else would you drink christmas morning???

john got a record player for christmas and dad sent some of his old records. i think we were questioning some of his musical selections from back in the day, but we love them!

cam and david picked out something that we obviously love! the blue one john has is from my grandmother's house and is who-knows-how-old, and the aqua one is our new decanter from them.

they won for most-festive pajamas. cam's one-sie even had footies!

christmas eve dinner. fried turkey with cam, david, lauren, andrew and libby. it was awesome.

didn't plan on wearing matching sweater coats, but great minds think alike.

our charlie brown christmas tree that steph helped cut down. and she made the stockings in the background. and then i made the cut-out circles to look like a kindergarten christmas art project.
