Christmas in January

just got back from our awesome southern "christmas-in-january" trip. who would have thought we left the wyoming snow and ice, only to be home for the 2011 winter storm in the carolinas?!? i think it's the first time we've ever gone to charleston and haven't been on the beach! the great thing about the "snow storm" is that is gave us every excuse to stay warm inside and relax with our families....and it was wonderful. and the sun finally came out so we could take a quick trip up to chapel hill and to see some buddies and watch a game at the dean dome (thanks steph for pulling the trigger on that one!). some of our favorite moments....

dad is obviously excited about his UNC ticket. he was not quite as excited about the drive home after the game, when we left chapel hill at midnight.

dad and john enjoyed watching the bobcats from a suite at the game - bobcats beat the chicago bulls for us!

when randy and sharon came up to charlotte for the weekend, we went over to davidson college, where sharon's dad (PopPop) was valedictorian in 1944! it took a little searching, but we finally found the plaque with his name on it. super cool.

john stopped to admire this guy's awesome bowtie.

when randy was in middle school, he went to tennis camp at davidson. we'll ignore the fact that he stayed in duke hall.





one of our best trips yet. we are so grateful to have spent such quality time with both of our families, and thank you sooooo much for making the time at home together perfect. we love y'all!
