Austrian Feast

steiglers: one of the best dining experiences ever.

last night we got the chance to eat at steiglers, an amazing austrian restaurant on the west bank with buddies andrew & lauren. it was incredible. seriously, from the minute you step foot in the door, you think you are walking in to a quaint austrian chalet. it is so legit - from the waitstaff wearing lederhosen to the giant fireplace, it was so wonderful. we have really wanted to eat here for a long time, and when the owner, peter steigler, announced they were closing at the end of the ski season (april 4), we knew we had to pony up and go. and it was so worth it. how many times do you get to order things like pferrersteak hausmann, spatzle, speck pretzl teller, preiselbeeren topfen palatschinken and birnen reisauflauf berry???

the best "pigs in a blanket" i've ever had. delish.

we are so blessed to have made some incredible friendships out here, and sooo happy we got to share this experience with the bishops. and a very special thank you to liz & libby erker for helping treat us to such an incredible meal!!! we wish we could take all our visitors to dinner here, but they're only open for 9 more days. i'm trying to convince john to go back one more time, so we can have pomegranate margaritas and burgers in the bar.....

oh, and i almost forgot to mention that not only did we grab a shot with peter steigler, but andrew got a picture with his brother, pepe steigler, a jackson hole legend. an olympic gold medalist in slalom skiing in 1964. badass. he revolutionized the way people ski today and basically helped create what is now jackson hole mountain resort (aka teton village).
